Cross-country skiing
Cross-country skiing in pertisau
The Achensee region is one of the best centres for cross-country skiing in Tyrol.
Over 150 kilometres of well-groomed tracks around Lake Achensee invite skiers to go for a gentle glide. The whole region is part of the largest and best-groomed network of cross-country skiing trails in Austria!
Trails with a Seal of Quality
The Tyrolean Seal of Quality is awarded by Tyrol’s state government for cross-country skiing trails that have an excellent level of maintenance.
To be awarded the Seal, trails must be well-groomed
and marked according to their level of difficulty
(blue, red or black) at the very least!
As well as classic tracks, the Achensee region also offers parallel skating trails running the whole length of the tracks so everyone, from beginners to skiing freaks, can choose the right route to match their ability.
The highlights are the 10-kilometre trail from Pertisau into the pristine Falzthurn Valley and the Guffert trail to the small mountain village of Steinberg, which is 24 kilometres long.
Service matters!

All of the local ski schools offer cross-country skiing courses and the sports shops hire out full sets of cross-country skiing equipment.
The sport is enjoying a renaissance! The ski schools around Lake Achensee offer courses lasting from one day to a week for beginners, those who haven’t skied for a while and for advanced skiers.
The healthy winter sport can be learned in just a few training sessions.
Cross-country skiing equipment can be rented from all sports shops.
